Established over 35 years ago, Medentech, the developers of Aquatabs, have been trusted by the world’s leading non-profits, disaster relief organizations, and adventurers to disinfect their water.

1984
The Beginning
Medentech company founded with the development of a fast acting and effective effervescent tablet, Sterinova, as a portable, easy to use disinfection solution for infant feeding bottles.
Aquatabs brand established and distributed for emergency situations worldwide.
1990's
Klorsept & Klorkleen
Klorsept and Klorkleen effervescent disinfection and cleaning tablets designed for Hospital infection prevention launched.
Farm biosecurity: Medentech products offer proven growth gain efficiency with proven efficacy against Bird flu, Salmonella and other animal based infections.
1998
New Facility
A new state of the art production facility is opened on Clonard Road.
2016
Aquatabs Flo
Medentech move into water systems. Aquatabs Flo, a low-cost, sustainable water disinfection unit is designed.
2017
Aquatabs Inline
Aquatabs InLine, a new inline pressurized sustainable system is piloted. Designed for communities without infrastructure, the Aquatabs InLine treats a minimum of 95,000 gallons of water.

Peer reviewed journal, THE LANCET, publishes an article on the effects of inline drinking water chlorination using the Aquatabs Flo. The double blinded study in Bangladesh has been shown to reduce WHO-defined diarrhea in children by over 25%
